Drumfire Records are delighted to present The Good Intentions' new album 'Travelling Companion'
Winners of the British Country Music Awards – Best Americana Act of the Year 2011
”If you can have the perfect British Americana sound, they've got it.”Alan Cackett (editor Maverick magazine).
”In this world of bang-crash pop records masquerading as country it is refreshing to hear an act like this – they are the real deal.” Stuart Cameron (CMR Nashville Radio UK)
Formed in 2003, The Good Intentions are Peter Davies, Gabrielle Monk and Frank Roskell. All songs are written by Peter Davies and The Good Intentions have released two albums to date: ‘Poor Boy’ (2008) and ‘Someone Else’s Time’ (2011). They have just signed to Drumfire Records and completed their third album scheduled for release in April 2013. The new album has been produced by respected West Coast USA musician and producer Rick Shea.
The Good Intentions’ music is based around acoustic instrumentation and three part harmony sounds, playing Americana, Bluegrass and Country. Having started our performing in smaller venues in the north of England they have over the last three years played at a number of festivals and larger venues in the UK as well as touring in The Netherlands and the USA. Their profile was raised considerable in 2012 following their appearance in the TV documentary ’56 Up’ – a series that has been following a group of people growing up from the first broadcast of ‘7 Up’ in 1963 – Peter is one of those subjects.

Drumfire 2013
2013 promises to be an exciting year for Drumfire Records. Whilst the great reviews come in for the recent releases from Dean Owens and The Good Intentions, we are busy preparing the next new release from Phil Burdett, as well as a number of special re-issue packages by classic country artists - but not the obvious ones!
Drumfire Digital has launched with the digital release of Phil Burdett's full catalogue of albums, and Dean Owens' long unavailable solo debut album, as well as the Drumfire albums by My Darling Clementine, Dean Owens, Tom T Hall, and The Good Intentions.
Drumfire's live nights in Kingston in 2012 November (Dean Owens) and December (The Liam Grundy Trio) were a great success, and have been followed by equally successful nights at The Cabbage Patch in Twickenham. There will be more of those through 2013.
Drumfire has also started the New Year creating podcasts on Mixcloud, featuring tracks from Drumfire releases past and forthcoming, demos, sessions, related tracks and some surprises. Please listen and share through your favourite social media network.
